About the artist:

Born in Paris in February 1970, Mathieu Lauffray demonstrated a keen interest in drawing at an early age. After completing his baccalaureate, he attended the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs.

Since 2006, Mathieu has been working on the series Long John Silver (Dargaud), a pirate adventure that once again teamed him with his long-time collaborator, Xavier Dorison. The fourth and final volume, The Emerald Labyrinth, was released in 2013. This series has revitalized the pirate genre with a rare narrative depth in comic books.

In 2020, Mathieu embarked on a solo project: Raven (Dargaud). Following Long John Silver, whose complete collection was published in 2023 (Dargaud), he returned to grand adventure storytelling, showcasing his immense talent as both an illustrator and a storyteller. Truly spectacular comic art!
