Julien Delval Artiste

Born in 1972, Julien Delval is a graduate of the École nationale supérieure des arts décoratifs in Paris.

He began his career as an illustrator by working in the role-playing game industry for Multisim publishing. The connections he made there led him to create numerous book covers for both adult and young adult novels for various publishers.

Still active in the gaming world, mainly with the publisher Days of Wonder, and after a stint in the comic book industry, he now focuses on more personal works. In these, he portrays ancient, mythological, and fantastical worlds inspired by classical painting and 20th-century imagery.

With Éditions Caurette, he published a monograph in 2020 and an illustrated edition of Othello by William Shakespeare in 2022.

Original works are presented by the Daniel Maghen gallery: https://www.danielmaghen.com
