About the Work

From his prison cell, as death approaches, Duke looks back on a shattered childhood and the violence that has shaped his life. Moments of tenderness also emerge from his memories, particularly his encounter with Billy, a young woman whose absence still haunts him.

Comics writer Gaët’s and novelist Dimitri Rouchon-Borie have joined forces to adapt the latter’s novel of the same name. Vincenzo Balzano brings the story to life through sensitive watercolours, balancing darkness with restraint and poetry. A meeting of literature and art, published under Dupuis’ Aire Libre imprint.
