The artist’s intention:

“In this painting, created as an extension of the Absurd Logic / Absurd Balance series, the ocean sunfish takes centre stage. Its common English name solar fish sets up a poetic paradox between moon and sun, one the work knowingly highlights.

A fascinating creature in its behaviour &mdash it sometimes rises to the surface to leap and rid itself of parasites &mdash it is depicted here as an unlikely guest at an imaginary table, its head among the stars. At the crossroads of the real and the symbolic, the scene extends the series’ reflection on fragile balance, on the absurd, and on the sense of wonder born from subverting the logic of the natural world.” - Veks Van Hillik
